Mr. Davenport's Web Page is a great website for parents to learn more about movies, TV shows, YouTube reviews, apps & games, books, and things parents need to know concerning everything digital. Check it out if you have questions concerning what your child may be watching online or on TV.

You can also use Common Sense Media to browse trending parenting articles and videos, or find advice by age range.

7th Grade Technology class has been learning about coding and cyber safety (how to stay safe online). Spam email is one of the biggest areas that people get taken advantage of. There is a link to an article about the top 10 types of phishing emails in Web Page Links section below.

If an email looks too good to be true, it probably is. Also, banks won't ask for your personal information or passwords, they already have that. Lastly, check the email address of the person who sent you the email. If you receive an email from Discover and discover is not in the email address, chances are it's a scam.

8th Grade will be finishing the year with Technology. They will learn about money - budgets, salary and taxes, and buying vs leasing a car.

Don't forget to order a yearbook (or two)

Students - DO NOT PICKUP THE LAPTOP BY THE DISPLAY. This could cause damage to the display by cracking the display or damaging the pixels in the display resulting in dead pixels or discoloration of the display. Please pick up the computer by the base.

If your charger is not fully functioning, bring it to me ASAP.

The replacement cost for a new charger will be $50 if the charger is damaged.

Answers to a lot of common problems people have with smartphones or computers can be found by searching on the internet. If you get an error message, do a search for that message.

If you are using a Mac, and you are receiving a lot of pop-up ads or a window appears that states you have a virus, DO NOT CALL ANY NUMBER THAT IS GIVEN ON THE SCREEN.   This is a type of malware and will not harm your computer, it's just annoying. Go to this website:

and download the malwarebytes software. Once installed, you can run the program and it will look for any malware that may be on your computer and get rid of it.
