Hard Surface Road Plan

With rain, freezing rain, snow, and warmer temperatures in our forecast, the transportation department would like to share our hard surface roads plan with you. We are sharing this information to prepare everyone for the event of a hard surface need in the future. The hard surface plan will only be used if an embargo or other weather related issue prevents us from running our buses on secondary gravel roads.

Please see the attached documents for the routes and times our buses will be available on the hard surface roads in both the Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center School Districts. Details will be communicated with parents and guardians through our Infinite Campus messaging system, the same way we communicate weather delays and cancellations.

If you have any questions, contact Mr. Todd Batey, Transportation Director, or Mr. Dave Osen, Bus Supervisor, at the email and phone numbers below.

Adair Casey- Mr. Todd Batey, tbatey@acgcschools.org, 641-746-3335.

Guthrie Center- Mr. Dave Osen, dosen@acgcschools.org, 641-332-2236.

Parent-Teacher Conferences- PK-8

Parent-teachers conferences are quickly approaching. Mark your calendars for March 13th and 14th as the upcoming dates for our PK-8 parent-teacher conferences. Conferences will run from 4:00-7:00 PM both nights. Guthrie Center Elementary, Adair-Casey Elementary, and the AC/GC Junior High will share more information about conference sign up as we get closer to the week of conferences.

End-of-Quarter Change

With the three lost school days due to inclement weather this quarter, we are moving the end of third quarter from March 14th, to March 15th. This moves our 2 hour early dismissal for students to Wednesday, March 15th.

  No School for Spring Break

Just a reminder, AC/GC will have no school on March 16, 17, and 20, for a long weekend and spring break. Hopefully your family can plan a getaway, staycation, or work on some spring cleaning around this extended 5 day weekend.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day

This week we celebrated Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Without our drivers, bus and suburban, it would not be possible for us to get our students to-and-from school and activities on a daily basis. Our drivers are a huge asset for our communities and their work is greatly appreciated! Take the time this week to thank a bus driver for their role in your child's education!

Guthrie Center- Don Sheeder, Paul Downing, Dave Sheeder, Marvin Christensen, Denise Crawley, Sheree McClellan, Ben Henry, and Dave Osen.

Adair-Casey- Dave Chambers, Don Sloss, Levi Westphal, Barry Williams, Todd Batey, Dave Farley, Les Elgin, Mark Williams, Deb Batey, Tori Lehman, Carol Weston, and Beverly Watson.

Winter Activities

What an exciting and successful winter activities season we've had at AC/GC. On the court, on the mat, in the classroom, or on the stage, it's great to see our students performing and representing our communities so well! Congratulations to all students and coaches who poured countless hours into their activities, you've made our communities proud with your passion, hard work, and dedication. Also, thank you to the parents, grandparents, and guardians who supported, fed, cheered, and traveled through winter weather, making it possible for our students to be involved and follow their passion in and out of the classroom.
