The 8th-grade Reading students were tasked with choosing a topic and creating a display that had to include 5 separate pieces from 5 different genres of information. Examples are journal entries, short stories, wanted posters, essays, brochures,... The students presented their displays on Friday and were judged on different aspects of the display.

The previous message about the Transitional Kindergarten and Preschool Open House tonight at 5 pm is for the Guthrie Center Elementary.

Hello Parents, Just a quick reminder that tonight at 5:00 PM in the cafeteria, we'll be hosting our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) & Preschool Open House! We will open the doors at the bottom of the steps on the south side of the building for you to enter. With TK being brand new to our school, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the program and what it offers. Feel free to share the invitation with friends, family, or community members who may need the information- especially if they don't currently have children in the building. Here's a quick overview of our programs: Preschool Program - 3-year-olds with IEPs & all 4-year-olds Transitional Kindergarten (TK) - 5-year-olds (1/2 PreK, 1/2 K) Kindergarten - 5-year-olds and older We'll be sharing a lot more information about both our PreK and TK programs tonight.
